SET Three or Four of a Kind

Three or four cards of the same rank, regardless of suit. Example: three Aces (A♠ A♥ A♦) or four Kings. Sets of four cards are especially powerful since they completely clear four cards from your hand.

RUN Sequence of Three or More

Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. Example: 5♥-6♥-7♥ or J♠-Q♠-K♠-A♠. Ace can act as low card only (A-2-3), not high (Q-K-A). Runs can be extended by adding to either end.

EXTENSION Laying Off on Existing Melds
